What Aiken County Booking Records Show
An Aiken County booking record is created the moment someone is processed into the detention center. The record captures the person's full legal name and any known aliases, date of birth, age, gender, race, height, and weight. A booking photograph is taken at intake. The record also carries the State Identification Number (SID) assigned by SLED, fingerprint data, the booking date and time, and the name of the arresting agency and officer.
On the legal side, each Aiken County booking record lists every criminal charge filed, the statute numbers cited, the type and amount of bond set, whether bond has been posted, and the court case numbers assigned. The next scheduled court appearance is included when set. Housing location within the six-unit facility is noted. If a sentence is being served, an expected release date may also appear on the record. This full set of data is what you see when you click an individual result in the ACDC online portal.
South Carolina law at S.C. Code Ann. § 17-1-60 protects people from mugshot extortion. Any business that publishes Aiken County booking photos and then demands payment to remove them may face criminal penalties under this statute.
